Cheese empanada, chicken empanada, pan de huevo, Berlin, and whatever this thing is in the photo (almost looks like a crunchy Napoleon) – all ridiculously good. The Napoleon thing (I really need to figure out what it’s called) was recommended by the woman who was helping us (I think she’s the owner – delightful, and very helpful to two non-spanish speakers), and rightfully so. Crispy, sweet, the pastry cream almost a bean paste texture, with an earthy flavor I can’t quite place.While everything else was excellent, the chicken empanada was particularly delicious – I see myself going back at lunch time for a second round.If anyone knows the name of the pictures pastry, let me know!
