I need new glasses, so I will return to London Optical this week. I forgot to review the shop after my last visit.I purchased my last pair of glasses about three years ago. The service was excellent. The quality was great, especially the lenses. I initially bought my glasses at LensCrafters, but the coating on the lenses came off within days. By comparison, the lenses from London Optical held up for years. In short, nice people and excellent quality.This review is only about the eyewear store. I can’t comment one way or the other about the doctor. I have had my eye exams at an ophthalmologist instead of the store’s optometrist.

I have been coming to London Optical for well over ten years and I find Greg and Sherry extremely helpful, warm friiendly and generous with their time. They always explain what procedures they are going to do in detail. Furthermore I have no fashion sense (ask my wife) and Greg has many times picked the perfect glasses for me. I highly recommend both Greg and Sherry.

Three years ago, shortly after moving to the Huntington area, the lens to my frameless glasses fell out. Asking to have it reset, I was told in the first local optical store that the fee would be $20. The second optical store wanted $10; moreover, I would have to wait half an hour. London Optical was the third store I walked into. Here, I was welcomed by Greg, who not only reset the lens quickly but did so free of charge. That was the beginning of our business relationship.Since then, in addition to performing the same service several times and, as before, refusing even a token “tip”, Greg has counseled my wife and me regarding our choice of frames and the type of lenses best suited to our optical needs. That these transactions were carried out in a friendly and unhurried manner and always with a considerate view to the cost factor is a special bonus deserving of mention.In short, I have only the highest praise for London Optical and Greg, in particular, and look forward to many more years of quality service.
