I convinced the company I work for to purchase a cell phone booster to boost the cellar signal for our office because of very poor cell service inside of the building. Because my work greatly depends on the ability to take calls on my cell phone, the company agreed and contracted Lan Communications to come and install a unit. Travis Hudspeth came to the business I work for and installed a cell booster, signal booster. The day of installation, Travis explained the the closest tower was to close to point the booster antenna correctly and that it would have some affect on the useable output of the unit. After an initial use period, I contact Travis and informed him that the booster hasn’t seemed to make a useable improvement. Travis again explained the situation with the building that I work in and the problem with the service antenna. More time passed and the store I.T. employee called Travis explaining that there is no apparent gain from the unit he installed. Travis came to our store and investigated. He brought a device that can measure the out put or gain of the booster. Travis demonstrated with this device that there is a gain, very very small but still a gain from this booster unit. He explained that the results are as good as there are going to get from this unit. I explained that our cell phones are the devices that we use to measure cellular service and that if his device can not make phone calls, it could not be used as a reference in this situation. Our conversation disappointed me because Travis is the person that sized and proposed the unit to use in this situation. We still have the unit in place but switching it on and off does not effect our cellular service signal. I would not recommend Lan Communications for service of this nature.
