The Best Pizza and Wings Anywhere! La Nova was born in 1957 when Joe Todaro (Papa Joe) started La Nova Pizzeria on 43 South Niagara Street in the City of Tonawanda. Joe worked 7 days a week with his son, Joe (Big Joe), who was 12 years old. Big Joe and his father introduced Buffalo favorites such as the White Pizza, Steak and Cheese subs and La Nova’s World Famous Barbeque Wings; an absolute favorite in the Queen City. When there is an influx of Ex-Buffalonians returning home for the holidays, people just have to have their La Nova. In 1994, Big Joe’s, his son Joe (L.J) and daughter Carla started La Nova Wings Inc. Their Wings and Sauces are now sold in Foodservice outlets Worldwide.

Former local here… Because of COVID19 restrictions, we had to order and pick up our food in a covered tent. That wasn’t great. The pizza was terrific though. The taste is the same, the old atmosphere will be back once COVID19 is managed.

My friends and I were looking for the original buffalo wings and somehow one website told us this would be the good place for people craving for buffalo wings. We were not sure this place was the origin but the pizza and wings were great. 5 of us enjoyed a very large pizza and wings and quite a lot so we couldn’t finish at restaurant. We saw a picture where Obama was holding La Nova pizza box and I couldn’t find any references about it. If it were true, my friends and I would be so happy that we went to a place where Obama visited too.
