We’re an old-fashioned soda fountain, ice cream parlor, candy store, and coffee shop. We make all of our own Purity ice cream, the first manufacturer of ice cream in Texas. You can watch salt water taffy being made, which is just one of the things we’re known for.

Wonderful place to go! We had just a slight problem and an employee came and helped us. Also talked to the manager (to talk about what good employees he had) and he was super polite and friendly. The chocolate we got has been really good as well. All around a great experience!!!

Really good Ice cream, the New York Cheesecake flavour did taste a bit spoiled, but it could have been me not used to the flavour, the confectionery was quite well organized and reasonably priced in comparison to the popularity. Can get crowded at times due to people standing around eating ice cream and browsing the confectionery. Staff was friendly and would aid disabled people without a moments notice, all while provide excellent, fast service.

We visit La King’s every time we’re in Galveston. It’s fun to watch the taffy being made! Lots of yummy treats to pick from. The old fashioned ice cream and milkshake bar is also nice! Root beer floats were delicious
