This staff allowed 30 minutes per week by appointment only to visit my husband (prior to COVID restrictions). The doctor on staff REFUSED our requests for dismissal to hospice care in the home. When he was transferred to ICU at Hoag Hospital, they lost my unconscious, dying husband and could not tell me where he was. All of this impacted a selfless and generous man’s end of life experience. I am deeply saddened.

My father was transferred from St. Jude to Kindred August 2020. Unfortunately he got the terrible virus Covid-19. The Kindred staff was amazing with my father he was treated like a King.He was there for 2 weeks and I was able to meet admin. staff, nurses , assistant nurses, rehabilitation therapist and doctors.I would like to thank Dr. Paul Simpson – pulmonologist was wonderful, there was constant communication with me and very thorough. The nurses also very patient and kept me updated on my fathers progress. Shout out to Chico, Naomi, Kevin & Carmelio. Danny assistant nurse and all the Rehab staff. Thank you for helping my father. The administrative staff was also very nice and helpful. Ann Marie Jones was great, the CEO Rick Refino was very supportive , Maricela Valencia, Nancy were just amazing with me & my father. The Doctors, Paul Simpson, Al Sadek Mohamed & Sangh did an amazing job and he is now at home getting better each day.For those who have suffered and been through Covid-19, understand it is not easy and very difficult not being able to see your love ones but the Hospital did a fabulous job accommodating our needs ,THANK YOU ! I am so grateful to have my father back at home and it was all of you who made this possible.Ingrid Martinez

Kindred staff are better than exemplary! They have kindred hearts.I wrote this on April 14, 2021 and am just now able to send this to the wonderful people that worked with me during my recuperation.I would like to thank each and every person I worked with while I was a patient at Kindred Santa Ana. Not once was I ever made to feel bad or neglected, nor did I ever get a negative attitude from anyone. There were two of your employees that really stood out and I believe, went out of their way for me and my comfort and all around well being. They are CNA’s Juanita and Maggy. I felt like family while in their care. These ladies are beautiful and have hearts of gold. Another CNA that stands out is Amelia. She only worked with me one time, but she also shined with kindness and genuine care, like Juanita and Maggy.I have been in several hospitals throughout my life and your hospital is at the top of that list for care and services. Your LVN’s and RN’s are phenomenal, I just didn’t get to know them as well as the CNA’s. As I said previously, all of your staff is awesome. I really appreciate your physical therapy department. Great bunch of folks working in that department.I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the house doctors that cared for me. Thank you for helping to keep me alive. You too, are wonderful and very much appreciated.I appreciate every ounce of care and concern provided to/for me while I was at Kindred Santa Ana. Your employees seem to enjoy their jobs and it shows in their work ethics and how they work with the patients, at least this patient.I am not just speaking for the way I was treated or communicated with. The care that was provided to my room mate was no less exemplary than my treatment. She was more elderly than I and she has been there a while, so I’m sure all the staff knows her. They treated her with kid gloves. I was impressed by their care and tenderness with her. Especially Annie! Annie was a hoot and she always seemed to get my neighbor to communicate with her. It was wonderful. If I ever need to go to an accuse care facility, you can bet I’ll tell them to send me to Kindred Santa Ana!Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.Weslyn D. Tiffin
