Nice selection of fish and fast friendly service
I did it
The meats are low quality like the stuff that people don’t want.

Love the free fish fry and the small cafeteria style food court!

First they are selling Parrot fish. This is a keystone species that is the reason you a beautiful sandy beach. They are on the verge of being out on the endangered species list. That alone is enough to make me never shop there again. Second. The fish was not really fresh. The seafood we bought all tastes for lack of a better word. Fishy.

This is the largest Asian market in the SCV, with a focus on Philippine products. It currently has 2 eateries inside (although it had as many as 6 pre-COVID) in addition to its market. There is also a Goldilocks bakery inside.Crab Mentality is a play on words with the mindset to bring down those who have climbed the ladder of success (crabs will try to pull down those who have climbed up in an attempt to pull themselves up). My family went there a few times before COVID; the food is great but it can get expensive so we don’t eat there too often. They will cook up fresh seafood (mainly shrimp and crab) that you eat at your table over butcher/wax paper (because it can get messy fast). They also offer lobster, fish and shellfish. The other eatery is a point point joint — you point to what you want (with either your finger or your lips, if you’re so inclined… of course verbal requests are also fine). We come here at least once a week, as it’s affordable and ready to eat. They offer the common variety of Filipino dishes but specialize with grilled foods. And this is one of the few places that offer goat (kambing) if you’re into it. You can sometimes see them grilling the food right at the front as you wait in line. The market has a wide assortment of Asian vegetables and products that you won’t find in the mainstay supermarkets like Ralphs or Vons. So you’ll find more varieties of rice, certain meat products that you won’t anywhere else. The prices are consistent with other Filipino markets in the area – and unfortunately there aren’t many others unless you choose to make the trip deeper into LA County. Aside from Island Pacific, the only other chain is Seafood City, which is nowhere close to SCV.Goldilocks is a major bakery chain in the Philippines. Currently when I am able to go to the market (evenings), it’s usually closed (while the rest of the market is open). Maybe it’s due to COVID? The market offers a few baked goods from local vendors but they don’t offer the cakes, pies, or other sweets that Goldilocks does. My family’s favorite is the egg pie.If you’re Filipino, you probably already know about the place, especially if you’re cooking Filipino. But if you’re not, but still interested in tasting Filipino food or sampling some products from the Philippines here in the Santa Clarita Valley, this is the place to go!
