Huntington Historical Society at the Trade School Building

  4.7 – 3 reviews   • Historical society

The Huntington Historical Society is the focal point for preserving the ongoing heritage of the Town of Huntington. We support this mission through public education programs, maintaining museums, collections and a regional research center; promoting the preservation of historic buildings and sites; and by partnering with local and regional institutions. This unique building was, in the early 1900’s, home to a school which taught sewing and housekeeping skills to young women, and trades to the young men of the community.Today the building is owned by the Huntington Historical Society. The top floor houses the Administrative Offices of the Society and the main floor and lower level houses the Library Resource Center and Archives.

Review Summary

Stephanie Fass
Huntington historical society is a treasure and asset to this community. While progress marches along, the society is there to document it. And when there comes a time to want to look back and see how things were, the society is there too.Beautiful renovation and very kind staff. Most of all, they offer wonderful events for the family. I have come over the years and recently they have really stepped yo their game at their popular sheep festival and Apple festival. Circle your calendar, these are can’t miss days. I don’t know how they make it all happen, but so many smiling faces at the festivals they do a really amazing job.
