Death records, wills and the map room helps us the most

Fantastic records, there is a ton of info here. No idea how it stacks up compared to other cities but there is a lot to browse and the volunteers are really helpful and friendly. Just ask for help and if it’s there they can find it or give you leads to other places that may have more info

We went and visited the museum and found it to be quite a gem – displays very well laid out, a video of some giant water creature on with seats so one can watch the video, then walk around the museum and there are more displays outside, in the grounds – cars and machinery – there is a small gift shop with interesting crystals and various artifacts for sale. There is no entrance fees and visitors are asked for donations only – there is little sign – to be quite honest if a visitor does not want to donate, it is ok too – it’s a good place to spend an hour or so – it’s not far from the main town area and well worth a visit. The explanations along with the displays are not only interesting but easy to understand. The museum is not overly big – there are tables and bench seats by the car park that is shaded and visitors can sit and rest a little there. An interesting, peaceful and quiet place – I will definitely return for another visit.
