Located in a 90 year old warehouse in Corpus Christi’s port-industrial district, Hoegemeyer’s simple methods bring south Texas Mesquite barbeque to the masses. Hoegemeyer (pronounced Hay-guh-my-er) opened its doors May 15th, 2013 in Corpus Christi’s industrial port area bringing the best barbecue to downtown. Our building has been around since at least the late 1920s (as evident through some of Doc McGregor’s aerial photos.) At the time it was a transfer house from rail-to-road. We’re big on family and fixin’ delicious food. We smoke barbecue and cook fresh every day and go until we’re sold out. We thank you for stopping in and genuinely appreciate your business.

Food was not bad but, it’s so disgusting to see a rat walking on the floor next to our table inside the restaurant. I just hope that the Texas Public Health Department go visit them and make them pay for not having any pest control set. When we told them about the rat, they just acted like if they were already tracking. If you see one rat, that probably means that there’s a lot more. What a shame! Rat pee is very dangerous!

Hoegemeyer’s is our new, favorite place to go for a great bbq meal. Their meats are flavorful, moist and fall off the bone tender. Unbelievably delicious in our opinion. Their friendly service and barn style atmosphere made it a very inviting.experience. The place was clean and had a comfortable rustic feel. Their prices are budget friendly. We will definitely be back.

We LOVED eating lunch here today. We are visiting corpus for spring break and needed some good Texas bbq and we found it here! The food was amazing! The staff was friendly and the owner even came and visited with us as we ate. Very cool ambiance inside the old barn, Old unique doors and really neat decor. This is a definite “go to” if your in corpus.
