Nice souvenir store.

The architecture was mind-blowing. It was a good experience. The store is expensive. 3.79 for a 20 oz soda. I recommend stopping down the street at the liquor store.

This was the third time my family visited the Hearst Castle. As the tour guide generously shared the stories with us, pages of history unfolded in front of us. The story of the family, the story of the establishment, and most importantly, the successful collaboration between William Randolph Hearst and Julia Morgan, the first ever female architect in America, once again reached deep inside our hearts. Here, we witness determination and celebrate success. This is not only a museum visit, it is an inspirational journey. In this trip in 2020, we realized that more emphases and details were given to Phoebe Hearst and Julia Morgan. We really appreciated the efforts.

We had been near the Castle in the last few years but had not toured. This year we did and we are planning on going back again. California Parks have done a tremendous job managing and showcasing this Historic landmark. The tour guides are great, fun and very interesting. In all an excellent experience.

Spacious large modern visitor center, easy access parking, free museum, reasonable food and gift shop. You must take the tour buses from here to the Castle itself. Several tour options. The ride up is pretty short and scenic. Big screen movie, worth seeing, is included with most Tour tickets.
