Galveston Island State Park – 2021 All You Need to Know …
While birding South Texas this place is a must do. If you are a birder you know the target bird in this area which I am intentionally leaving its name out to protect it.

Camping here was a great experience! We were part of the Texas Outdoor Family. They provide assistance with Learning how to camp, and provide education and guided tours. I love using their program for our camping trips. I fell in love with camping and our Texas State Parks because of them. This park was great. It’s a perfect opportunity for those who love To Kayak. Miles of kayak routes for you to take, it’s beautiful!

I would say I had fun at this place, but I only saw one wildlife which was a metal bird. The trails that make up around 2 miles total were covered in muck and water. Not a place I would suggest to go for $5. Many other parks in the area are much better and have better scenery and wildlife. I took off my shoes and put them in a sack before leaving and had to wash them at home. Hopefully others have better experiences here than I.

Can’t say we’ve ever been to a state park that was just open flat land! Lots of walking, a bridge to fish from, a watch tower in the middle with other smaller towers scattered around, and even a good amount of water! We went for a day hike but it’s not big enough for a day, so we went to lunch afterwards. Make sure to wear the right shoes cause it’s muddy!
