I hate buying shoes, that’s why I wear my shoes until they can’t be worn no more. When I need to buy shoes, it’s a big deal for me because I know the shoes I buy are going to be with me for at least a year. There is a lot of pressure I put on myself, knowing that I’ll rep whatever pair of shoes I buy for quite a while. There have been times that I regret my decision immediately after purchase, but I hate shopping so much that I’d prefer to stick with my poor decision than going back to the store. It feels like a death sentence, but without the death part. It’s more like a sentence, but a really bad one. So when I walked into this store, I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to it. I had contradictory feelings of wanting to get my perfect pair of shoes for the year, but also wanting to get out as fast as possible because I can only take 20 mins of shopping before I start to lose it. When I first walked in, a pair of shoes stood out immediately to me. I felt so lucky, I just walked in and could be walking out so soon with my shoes of the year. I happily rushed over to them, but when I got there, the price tag ruined any hopes I had of ending the shopping torture. I could never spend that much on shoes, unless they were Heelys. So I began browsing once more. A few minutes later I found a shoe that fit my style perfectly. It was comfortable, bland, and cheap. I didn’t second guess myself as I usually do and just went for it. I’m extremely happy with the decision I made and I think future me(one year later me) is going to be happy as well. If present me and future me are happy, that makes me happy.
