Let me begin with my first visit to this place two weeks ago. My friend and i had a charter booked for a Saturday. We showed up at 5:30am to be told our charter was cancelled. They never called us to tell us this. However, they tried to get us to use $400 of the $800 refund to buy their fish. That was my first bad experience with easy freeze. That one doesn’t compare to my second experience. So last Friday i went on a charter that i booked through a different company. I caught some fish and brough the fish to easy freeze to be packaged. I told them i do not want it frozen, i’m just going to Fairbanks. So that’s what i paid for. The paperwork even said, packaging only. The girl at the counter said, come back at 9am to pick it up. Ok, i get there about 9:30, the girl tells me, oh, they didn’t charge you the correct anount. It’s going to be $5 more because we froze it. I said, but i didn’t want it frozen! I specifically said, do not freeze it! Then the guy sitting around, maybe the owner, i don’t know, chimed in. “Well it will be better because it was flash frozen” or something to that extent. So they made a mistake and want ME to pay for it? Look, i know it’s only $5, but to be honest, i tipped the captain of the charter $80, i tipped the guy that cut up the fish $40. I was having a good time in Valdez until 9:30am at easy freeze. Just avoid this place if you can. Very sleazy business. They alone, will ruin your trip to Valdez.

As a local I’m always content with the service here. They’re pretty quick and make things easy. Whenever we travel with boxes of fish, we always stop here because their cold boxes always do the trick. Because I like fishing as often as possible I wish they were a smidge cheaper, but I’m not willing to lower them a star based on my expert fishing ability
