OVERDOSE of Pfizer vaccine given. Do NOT go here!**Update** OMG, the pharmacist who made that overdose mistake was still working here the very next day without any investigation or Corrective Action undertaken. There were many patients, including young kids, waiting in line to get vaccinated. Spread the news!!! Don’t go here for sure. And personally I would NOT recommend any CVS for vaccination based on the experience that the parents had to go through because of this. Save yourself a headache and heartacheMy 13 yrs old niece got Covid-19 vaccine from here yesterday afternoon and received a call in the evening, after almost 5 hours later, stating that she received an overdose shot… They called closed to their closing time.Moreover, they did not provide detailed information that the parents rightfully deserve to receive – such as explanation as to how it happened or how much overdose she was given. Nor did they explain how they will handle this error moving forward.When I contacted CVS back, this location was closed and a CVS representative could not provide any further details as their system only showed that she received the right amount of vaccine. So I’m guessing something must went wrong when the pharmacist was performing reconstitution (dilution). It seems that the CVS system has no way of tracking or flagging this rather serious error.In general, reconstitution or dilution is a very commonly used techniques any pharmacist would perform while pepreparing certain types of prescription drugs, so this incident makes me doubt the pharmacist’s and the staff’s ability to adequately perform their job. Overdose can be life-threatening in some cases/drugs.UPDATE: Contacted CVS, Pfizer, CDC, and physicians. Bottom line, it’s CVS’s mitake/error and we are still waiting to hear back from CVS.
