The way I was treated by the CVS employees was absolutely disgusting and appalling! After being diagnosed with the flu, I headed to CVS (909 Grand Ave, San Rafael, CA 94901) to get my prescriptions filled. I was in a lot of pain; wearing sunglasses because my eyes were sensitive to light, and I was wearing a face mask to prevent spreading germs; my discomfort and illness were very obvious. I arrived at the CVS pharmacy with my prescription in hand, I took third place in line and waited about 20 minutes on my turn. When it was finally my turn, the cashier, Elizabeth, looked around me and said she’s going to take the person after me next, without explanation. I ask why and she explains that she’s going to take all customers with pick up orders first (even those who took place in line after me). I’m shocked and I explain that this type of service is unacceptable and if this is how the line would operate, that should’ve been posted so that I did not waste my time, also I am very sick and need to get my prescription filled ASAP to get home and prevent spreading the flu to other customers. Elizabeth showed no concern to explain or expedite the ridiculous process. At this point I am in tears because I’m sick, in pain, being ignored and denied my medication. Elizabeth continued to take every other customer that walked up to the line and ignored me. Elizabeth was obviously avoiding helping me, a Black customer, and hand selected the non-black customers in line. I asked for a manager, and after a few blank missions around the CVS store, I finally met with Jen, who says she was a manager but she could not help me get my prescription because she did not have a log-in to access the computers. While Jen was more courteous, she was not helpful. I could not believe the discrimination I experienced at this location so I called their corporate office to file a complaint, I received a “Restricted” call and voicemail from Lazarus Figueroa, a district manager, he did not leave a contact number but explained the he would try calling me back; he has not. My complaint has fallen on deaf ears. Please be aware of how this company allows their employees to treat customers, especially Black customers such as myself. I was really ill at the time and was completely discarded as a customer and a human being by Elizabeth and CVS Pharmacy.

BEWARE OF THE PHARMACY! This is one of the most incompetent groupings of people I have ever encountered. 1) When I came in to pick up a generic sleeping med prescription, they told me they had not received it. I happened to have watched my doctor’s monitor as he sent it in himself. So at CVS I had to get my Dr. on the line to resend it. Then they said it not be available until the next day. 2) The next day I come in, its not ready yet, out of stock, come back this afternoon. 3) This afternoon I call, and they still don’t have it yet. 4) I call the store manager, he goes to the pharmacy and gets it filled, but it won’t be ready until tomorrow and he quotes me the uninsured price $200+- 4) I then have to call my ins. co. to get the right price ($10). Now I have been waiting on hold for 15 min to see if they are finally ready to give me my F)&%$#ing prescription. First and last time using this location. I am so glad I am not using them for life-dependent medication, I might be dead by now…
