Good news: pain meds don’t cost much these days.

I’m glad I wasn’t in urgent need of the pain medication prescription I stopped in to fill. On my original visit around noon I was told that I’d be texted in around an hour or two when my prescription was ready. By the next morning I hadn’t been called so I called the pharmacy and got an automated answer keyed to my telephone number that my prescription was ready for pickup. So, obviously they had my correct number, but had failed to call me. Strike One. I should have called earlier to check. Ball One.I went to the pharmacy and was third in line (Not too bad I said to myself) and only waited about 5 minutes before I could approach the pick up counter. At that point the pharmacist told me it would be just a minute. I then got to stand there and watch her open and label a large number of pill bottles ( As it turns out 16 bottles ) for what she called a large order. At that point I had to remind myself that I wasn’t currently in any pain and that this was just an annoying example of poor customer service. Perhaps a staffing issue? Strike TwoAfter a slight delay due to a computer connection problem, I had my prescription in hand and was able to leave. Good news: pain meds don’t cost much these days. Long story short, I guess I’ll just leave the count at Ball 1 and Strike 2. I didn’t blow up at the pharmacist(tech?) because it’s obvious the it wouldn’t solve a systemic problem at this pharmacy. I just won’t be going back.

The pharmacy NEVER answers their phone. I have tried calling several times and I simply think they just don’t answer as a policy. No matter how long you wait (i have waited about 45 minutes once) they won’t answer.
