The last time I went to a Cracker Barrel on my last trip to Texas. I went to their Midland location and it was terrible. My dad wanted to eat their while in San Antonio. He’s not one to complain, but he said this location was terrible because the food was overcooked and the meat was dry. Also, they ran out of mashed potatoes so we had to wait for our meals until the potatoes were done. (They use real potatoes to make their mashed potatoes!). Our server, Calista, was exceptionally nice and did her best to provide a great experience. Definitely the last time I’ll eat at a Cracker Barrel. The upside, I found a cool turtle I can use for a gift.

The worst Cracker Barrel ever!! Went on a Tuesday afternoon to celebrate a birthday. Arrived at 6:00, had a 45 minute wait. Sat down at about 7:00 ordered for seven people. Half of our order came at 7:45 and the other half came 15 minutes later. Asked to speak to manager but was denied because he was the cook and three other tables were requesting to speak to him too. They ran out of fried chicken and meatloaf. It’s time for a change in management. Don’t go here!!!

First of all the floor in the dining room was really dirty. I noticed the busboy cleaning a table and whatever fell onto the floor, stayed on the floor. The dining room represents the kitchen of your home. Would you want guests eating in YOUR dirty kitchen? Second the waitress needs to practice better skills. I would have taken into consideration if it was busy. It was not busy. We had one refill of tea. Through the course of the meal we didn’t see her much. We asked for biscuits and had to remind her. At this point we are at the end of our meal. Now the dinner itself. I ordered chicken and dumplings with mash potatoes and macaroni. The mash potatoes were so dry. I also can tell you that I had a piece of chicken in my dumplings. Where is the homemade from scratch motto that Cracker Barrel represents. I always compliment excellent service in my gratuity. This evening’s dinner is a reflection of management and staff. I am a very disappointed customer. I did voice our unhappiness to the cashier and she did suggest we talk to the manager. I declined. Why? If your standing there and not realizing customers have empty glasses, shouldn’t you walk over and asked if they would like a refill or anything else. If you see the waitress busy with another table do not let the customer wait…it’s called team work. I understand being in the restaurant business is not always easy, but today’s service was uncalled for.
