I wanted to give this a great review but I can’t. I always wanted a black doctor who is female but Dr. Smith is NOT it… Dr. Smith is very dismissive and did not listen to me when I voiced concerns. My PCP was able to catch something that she didn’t which is very strange since I went to them the same day. What prompted me to go to my PCP was how dismissive she was. She is very cold and lacks empathy. I waited over a week for my medication and whenever I call, the MAs or front desk always say I cannot give you a time period in which the prescription will be sent to your pharmacy because I am not sure as to when the doctor will actually send it out… Please call back next week for an update on whether your medication has been sent to the pharmacy.

The first visit was pre- pandemic. It was not great I was made to wait other patients that came in after we’re called first. I had a miscarriage and the Dr.Smith made me feel like it was my fault with what and how she said things. I was also being pressured to have a D&C even though I clearly expressed I did not want one. The dr seemed very frustrated every time I told her no every appt to check on me. She tried to schedule me without asking me first as well, I told her I couldn’t take days off and she responded with “ what kind of job do you have??” I would not recommend this practice to anyone. It was a very horrible experience on top of what I was already going through.

NOPE never again. I echo Glorias post below. Know your patient rights! Don’t let a doctor scare you into anything. Know your rights. This was tried on me by some of the very same doctors mentioned in previous posts. I refused to induce my pregnancy at 35weeks due to supposed “IUGR” A diagnosis that is typically found way earlier than 35wks. Too quick to jump the gun. Long story short, I refused to Induce because my baby’s vitals, fetal Doppler, Amniotic fluid were all great! They still insisted, but I went twice a week to get scans to keep track of my baby and make sure he was not in distress… not once showed signs of distress. Fast forward the day I gave birth a technician at Lawrence hospital did a sonogram and said why would they say you have that your baby is over 7lbs. And that indeed it was 7lbs 5oz! Mind you they the doctors here and at the sonogram technicians linked to them on Scarsdale rd said 4lbs at 35weeks!I could go on but I’ll leave it at this, don’t be afraid to ask questions, research and know your rights!Oh and Lawrence hospital is just a tad bit too run down for me. Won’t be returning there either!
