Chubby’s Mattress and Rustic Furniture all started with the original family business, Coastal Bend Sales, which opened in 1952 and was in business for nearly 50 years. In 2006, Chubby’s was opened and named for the beloved family pet, ”Chubby”. Now, with three stores, Chubby’s serves the mattress and rustic furniture needs of the Coastal Bend. Chubby’s is active in the community as a major recycler of mattresses and furniture and is a generous supporter of P.A.A.C (People Assisting Animal Control).

My husband and I are new to town and had no idea where to shop for furniture. We had visited a few places but had yet to find anything eye catching and practical, not to mention service seemed either pushy or ho-hum. My husband actually suggested Chubby’s. I assumed it was only mattress from the name so I over looked it as we are not in need of any mattresses. We happen to be in the neighborhood of a Chubby’s checking out a competitor when my husband said let’s at least see what Chubby’s had to offer. Immediately upon arrival John greeted us and provided us with extraordinary customer service. I fell in love with almost every piece of rustic furniture in their warehouse. We asked A LOT of questions, John had answers for all of them! Our furniture delivery was just as smooth as our purchasing experience. Ben & Chance even rearranged my set up when I figured out I didn’t like the original one I thought I wanted. Everything about Chubby’s is top notch! We will definitely be shopping there again in the very near future!!
