We carry north of 150,000 titles and will happily do anything we can to swiftly procure books for you that we don’t currently carry in stock. We’re committed to providing our community with an impressive depth and breadth in any and all subjects as well as excellent customer service (including recommendations from our well-read staff). This is my favorite bookstore on the planet. If you’re a massive book-lover you’ll feel like you’ve died and gone to bibliophile heaven. This isn’t your typical bookstore, it’s literally wall to wall and floor to ceiling books. I’ve found more hidden gems at Chaucer’s in one year than I have anywhere else in my entire life. The staff is knowledgeable and kind and will gladly help you if you’re having trouble finding something specific. I think Chaucer’s Books is one of the most charming spots in all of Santa Barbara. Definitely stop in.

I love chaucers! When I check out, I always see more books I really want to read on display so I special order them! I got a book by Oprah today and ordered the stillness of winter to read during the winter months! Very excited to read both! I always get free bookmarks there to!
