Hugues, owner of Chatel – who studied watchmaking in Switzerland and watch and clock restoration in the Musée International d’Horlogerie of La Chaux-de-Fonds – is the only certified watchmaker on the Monterey Peninsula.

What a terrific experience it was from start to end, including getting to know the owners, who are genuine, unpretentious folks. It’s a beautiful store: elegant without being stuffy. Matched the service perfectly. Came in curious about the ZRCs, got to try some Bell & Ross and Panerai, and didn’t leave empty handed. A pleasure all around and highly recommended.
