Surprise hidden gem downtown! Had friendly service and absolutely awesome food! I had the best pulled BBQ chicken with Broccoli Cheddar Casserole! My date had baked herb Chicken, Casserole and Mac and Cheese. We started with Fried Green Tomatoes and I recommend having them every time!!!! Yum!

She had the Southern biscuit breakfast and cheese grits. She said the pimento cheese should be cold but was served warm and the bacon, fried green tomato, the biscuit should be warm and were cold. Grits were acceptable. I had the chicken biscuit and it was good. The strawberry basil jelly was quite a treat.

I have been here three times and the prices plus the atmosphere are unbeatable! I have had the southern biscuit for my breakfast and the fried chicken when I was there for lunch. Both were excellent portions and tasted great! I highly recommend cahawba house for a cozy and quick bite!
