Got my studs put on for winter at another shop and had my front struts mysteriously seize up when they did that. Took the car to Dave at Block’s Auto to take a second look. He was friendly, knowledgeable and honest. When it came to the repairs he was very fairly priced and had my car back up and running in half the time he estimated. I will definitely be going back if/when we need any other repairs done. He does quality work and I highly recommend him to anyone.

A few months ago the transmission on my old Silverado went out and needed to be replaced. I shopped around for a mechanic in the valley and found Block’s Automotive. I felt really good about my decision to go there, the owner was so nice and he works hard. I had my truck back in no time and was pleased with both the quality of the service, and the cost of the repair.This is an honest business that will treat you right. My original estimate was higher than what the actual cost came out to be, I was told about it and the price was adjusted. He didn’t have to be honest, I never would have known otherwise, but he was and I appreciated it. I will continue to use Block’s as long as I’m in Alaska. I highly recommend them for all your car repair needs!

My girlfriend and I took our car to Dave’s shop due to mysterious popping sounds from the front.Dave took a test drive with us to isolate the sound, and put the vehicle on the lift. Dave did a thorough inspection of the wheel suspension and joints thereof. He took a look at our brakes as well, and the associated hardware.. He noted the lower engine mounts were worn away, and showed us the areas. After lowering the vehicle and more tests, he had my girlfriend keep the brakes on, and rev the engine in reverse and drive. The engine was rocking a full three inches back and forth in its mounts.Dave stated that he believed that was the source of the mysterious popping sounds.He gave an estimated quote for parts and labor that was $200 – 300 dollars less than other auto repair shops.He was very patient with all of our questions, and answered them to our satisfaction..Dave has a very friendly demeanor, and does not rely on jargon to pass a point.I recommend Block Automotive to everybody.
