I just had a terrible experience.I arrived at this barber shop at 4:10pm today. I asked for a cut for my son. He is 3, we wanted to trim his long curly hair, which by the way we have never cut before. This Was supposed to be our 1st time cutting our son’s hair.A male worker asked me to sign in on the tablet, so I did. Another guy worker told me that I would need to wait about an hour. I said OK no problem we will wait right outside the door. So we had ice cream and we waited. At 5:12pm I received a text from the Barbershop to return immediately. We were standing right outside the door so we just walked in. There were about 4 or 5 barbers busy in their chairs. One young Barber I could tell was finishing up cleaning his workspace. 2 women also had just finished up and were also cleaning their work spaces. So we stood around for a few minutes and no one approached us. I asked if we should just have a seat and no one answered. I just assumed that they didn’t hear me with my mask on. So we sat down.So we hear chatter in Spanish amongst the barbers, and it seemd that no one wanted to cut my son’s hair. There were at least 4 free workers in the salon but each of them said that they had an appointment about to arrive at any moment. One of the workers I could not tell who, they asked someone other worker who’s gonna cut my son’s hair, it seemed to me that no one wanted to touch my son’s hair.I should point out that my husband’s skin is black. My childrens skin is black. They are of mixed races. HOWEVER, my husband is from Ecuador so his native language is Spanish. My husband and I knew that these barbers had no idea that we can understand every word they were speaking.I waited at least 15 minutes and at no point did any of those workers speak a word to me.Not, I’m sorry ma’am for the wait, not someone will be with you shortly, not thank you for your patience, Not even that someone was on their break. Nothing. No one told us anything. My husband stood up and waited to make eye contact with someone to ask a question. No one made eye contact. I almost began to wonder if maybe they did not cut hair for children. Ok. So I waited. But I kept hearing chatter, Again, No one wanted to take my son as a client.I sat there long enough, And I finally asked myself, Why don’t they wanna cut my son’s hair? But I still waited.I felt like such a fool. After having sat there for about 20 minutes. I was like, dang, why dont they wanna touch my son. For some stupid reason my entire being was overcome with embarrassment. I grabbed my son’s hand and I walked out.My husband had already been outside because he had to take a work phone call. But the moment I walked out of that door, I could not help but wonder… WHY TF did I just sit thru that? WHY didn’t they want to cut my son’s hair? What am I supposed to think? Really. I’m asking… What am I supposed to think about that? All I know is that I HATE, I Absolutely Hate to think that race had anything to do with this.I walked away from this place, with tears in my eyes. I hope I am wrong about this.My heart breaks when I think about my children being judged for the color of their skin.I don’t know what else I’m supposed to think about this situation that happened. All I know is how I feel inside, and it’s not nice.

This woul’ve been a 5 star if I would have rated a couple of months ago. I loved coming to this place, but lately there is a couple of barber girls who seem to be on their attitude bus. Seems like bringing 4 people to get a hair cut and help a local business is not in their business Ideology, not sure if the manager just doesn’t care or doesn’t catches thier atritude since it’s not the first time this happens, thanks to the people who do love providing service regardless of them just having a bad they maybe. Bringing my money elsewhere or just with the right baber next time, since some of them are super professional.
