Much bigger than I expected. Lots of interesting exhibits on native culture, science / geology as it relates to Alasks and a decent art wing. Definitely come here if you have the time. Google maps shows closed but it is open same times as the museum site indicates

I highly recommend this museum while you are visiting Anchorage Alaska. So many beautiful displays. Many gorgeous photos and paintings. Lots of activities for the kids at the Discovery center. My stay was made a lot easier because of my disability with the help of Todd! Thank you so much Todd for all of your help! Definitely a place I would visit again next time I am in beautiful Alaska!

My husband and I completely enjoyed ourselves!! We had fun in the Discovery Museum and really enjoyed the art and the history and stories of our local Alaskan Natives. AND I made a friend!! His name is Chomper and he is a snapping turtle!!
