… I really loved the level of care at this store because again at costco it’s a madhouse plus you have to wait for your number to be called and it’s like you’re rushed out …

I think this business needs better training for its employees. Are they there so they can report numbers to corporate (what it seems like) or for the best interest of the customer? The guy who was in charge of my transaction was very pushy and made me feel super uncomfortable. He was clearly uneasy about me returning one pair of glasses I purchased(within the stores sale policy, perfect condition) and continued to try to upsale and get me to take other deals instead of return, regardless of telling him I was not interested multiple times. While trying to sell me insurance, at one point the exact words from his mouth after finding out I had renewed last year online were “ Yeah, you aren’t doing the right thing” while shaking his head.I was kind of baffled by the whole interaction, which included a lot more detail than anyone wants to read in a review. Needless to say I left with an uneasy feeling. After coming back to try fix my prescription for the second time, my eye doctor, who originally was kind and I liked, concluded that I just need to get used to the glasses, regardless of them feeling very wrong while wearing them. He seemed frustrated, saying that I was changing my mind about what my eyes liked. I didn’t know what to say as it was definitely not on purpose, all I knew was that my eyeglasses felt that something wasn’t right while wearing them. I had glasses before, so I know the difference between a little getting used to, and this. But of course, he’s the doctor so he must know my eyes better than me, and why waste time trying even one more thing to perhaps make the prescription better? So I left with an uneasy feeling again. I want to return my other pair, as I will probably not wear them, but I really don’t want to go back to that place at all. So I’m stuck with a prescription and glasses that I will not use.The whole experience was not very good, from the advertising, sales techniques, to the issue with the prescription. It just made me feel uneasy and uncomfortable.

Personally I had a great experience at America’s Best. I was way overdue for an eye exam (2+ years) and don’t currently have vision insurance so I went here. In terms of COVID safety, I didn’t feel unsafe at any point. There were plenty of hand sanitizer stations and every was masked up. Since I haven’t been to the eye doctor in over 2 years, I did splurge and get the extra tests to check my eyes, glasses lenses extras, etc. They did offer a lot of things but they were not pushy with it at all. The 2 for $60 plan for glasses is for the cheapest glasses and only if you don’t get the extra coverings, blue light, etc. They told me it would be about 2 weeks for my glasses and contacts to come in, which to me is pretty standard as that is what it was at my old eye doctor. I called 2 weeks after my appointment just to check in on the status of my glasses, and they told me they would be ready in the next couple days. Picked up my glasses, got them adjusted and they changed out the soft case for hard plastic ones for me. Overall I had a good experience and would come back, since I have every year for my contacts :).
