At the 200-acre Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, jaws drop in awe-even those of longtime Alaskans who’ve studied grizzlies and other animals up close.

… to protect the humans but does really retract from them being in the wild. Most people don’t see much on the rest of your so this makes up for it. Cool store too!

Nice gift shop with a variety of gifts, a decent selection of food.

It is also a good place to bring family and small kids, but expensive admission.

This place is absolutely phenomenal, the stars of the show are the bears and they did an amazing job creating an elevated walkway that weaves through the brown and black bear habitats. It truly is wondrous to see these animals as close to the wild as can be, and even more stunning to have the mountains in the background. The staff do an amazing job of caring for these animals. U will spend more time than you think at this reserve as these animals are just mesmerizing. You can drive through or walk through the majority of the grounds. This is an absolute must.

This place is AMAZING!!! I’m SO glad that we came & did 2 of the tours. a wealth of information was given to us & all goes to helping ensure that the animals are cared for.

A fun experience to see Alaskan wildlife. Alaska doesn’t have much for zoos & wildlife isn’t just out all of the time, so this was cool to walk around and see what kind of animals Alaska has. Not to mention they rehabilitate & release any of the animals they can. You can drive the 1.5 miles or walk it. The food wasn’t the greatest so I recommend bringing your own.
