Wide selection of guns but their prices are more than local competition.

I was excited to hear about Calamity Jane’s in Hudson Falls, NY. Though over an hour drive away, I called the store and spoke to Jane, the owner, about a specific lever action rifle manufacturer. She was very informative and invited me to her store to review current inventory. We drove to the store that afternoon, and a puzzling sign was posted on the door indicating to NOT wear a mask when entering store.Well, I wear a mask as I believe it is the right thing to do. I entered the store with my mask in place. I had not taken three steps into the store and I was confronted by a male attendant who promptly addressed me saying, “Sir, please take off your mask”. I responded, “Do you mean I can’t shop in this store if I wear a mask”?. The attendant confirmed, “That’s right”.I turned around and left the store. While in the parking lot, I phoned the store, and asked to speak to Jane. The guy that told me to leave, said she was with a customer and I would have to wait. I asked if I could leave my number and have Jane call me. He said that would be fine, took my name and number, and would have Jane call me.Well, I didn’t get a call from Jane. I traveled over an hour to specifically get to the store, and the same back home. Every other firearm store I have entered during this extraordinary time, may not post any signs, or may not enforce a mask wearing policy, however ALL others have respected the position of the customer, and made me feel welcome.I share these comments in this review to advise potential customers to beware. If the ownership of such an establishment disrespects the fundamental personal beliefs of the customer, this behavior and position clearly transfers to all aspects of their business.Despite product lines, and inventory, this is just not right. During or after COVID, I will not to do business with Calamity Jane’s. I will also share my experience with friends and colleagues.

Good place, nice people. Decent prices on guns and ammo.

Been here quite a few times over the last two months for ammo and have been looking for a new long range rifle. Their prices are insanely high in my opinion for both ammo and guns. I also have not had any good experiences with their customer service. Which is unfortunate as I do spend quite a bit of money on guns and ammo and always like to support a local business.
