I want to give a shout out to Cartridge World on Newell Avenue in Walnut Creek.I have my Canon ink cartridges refilled there. These are separate color/blank cartridges that have a chip in them that needs to be reset when refilled so they register as full to the printer.I buy a boatload of cartridges at a time. It could be quite a while before I get around to using them. The last batch of cartridges I got from them was at least a month ago, possibly more, I’m not quite sure.I installed a new, yellow cartridge but it was detected as empty. Clearly this is wrong, as I can SEE the yellow ink. I realize that the chip hadn’t been reset. No big deal .. I just move on to the next yellow cartridge.SAME RESULT. Hmmm. Now, I’m beginning to wonder if it’s my printer. What are the chances of *two* cartridges registering as empty, when they are not?I went through the *4* yellow cartridges that I have plus 2 blue ones (that also needed to be replaced in the printer). ALL of them registered as empty.By now, I’ve pretty well convinced myself that the problem *must* be my printer. But, as one last check, I put one of the allegedly empty yellow cartridges into my husband’s machine, which is exactly the same as mine. It has a full, working yellow cartridge. I swap it for my empty one and BINGO .. it registers as empty also! The problem is with the *cartridges*.I took the whole batch to Cartridge World, explained the problem. The counter guy verified that, yep, indeed, the chip had NOT been reset. Whew! i was actually harboring a small, residual thought that it was still my printer at fault! He apologized profusely, reset the chip in all the cartridges and gave me an additional black one for my troubles He said that they do have detailed procedures that need to be followed just so this sort of problem doesn’t occur. But hey … $h!t happens, ya know? You have a new employee … you have a regular person who’s fighting a head cold … someone isn’t focusing on the job at hand … and mistakes happen. While the mistake is annoying for me, as a customer, all that annoyance was completely eradicated by the excellent customer service I received. I heartily recommend the Newell Avenue location in Walnut Creek.

These guys are the BEST! They give awesome customer service. I recommend them very highly. They go above and beyond any other company to take care of all of our printer needs.

I have been a very good customer for years. Right up until today. The staff at this location has suddenly become very rude, refusing to replace faulty cartridges and even insisting one of them was not their cartridge in spite of the label saying ‘Cartridge World Walnut Creek.’ What, did they think I had gone out and printed the label myself? Suffice it to say I will never go there again to be treated with such disrespect.
