They have really bad customer service. I’ve come here a couple of times and every time I come there’s always a problem. I never take the time to write a review but today I had enough. I was attended by Alexandra today and she was super rude. I understand that working in customer service is hard but I was never rude to her. This store needs better staff.

Very bad customer service. They’re all rude but I kept going back to this store as it is the closest to home. Today, my mom and I were attended by Alexandra and she has really bad attitude. She doesn’t stop to listen to what her customers need. So I asked to speak to a manager and I was then attended my Chapman. Looks like Alexandra has already told her because she automatically shut me down. I will not be coming back to this store. They obviously have things to work on because they have nothing but bad reviews.

TLDR:-For customers – If you get medications filled here they may be swapped out with a generic medication without your knowledge or explicit consent. Make sure to check each time they give something to you that it matches what you normally get, and if it doesn’t ask them why/advocate for yourself to get what you need, or go to a different pharmacy?-For CVS – please PLEASE complete a patient consultation if you run out of a medication and need to swap in a generic, make sure they understand what they’re putting in their body and offer alternative routes that will get them what they need if they do not want the generic drug.BackgroundI have twice been given a generic prescription in place of my actual normal prescription without being told that I was being given something new. The first time this happened, I didn’t think much of it, I asked the pharmacist or tech why the pills were a different shape and she said oh its just a generic, its the same thing this was maybe after a week of taking it. The second week I had SEVERE anxiety, the worst I’ve ever had, so I scheduled an appointment with my psychiatrist who informed me that generic prescriptions only need to be 70% as effective as the original drug [this is actually not true – I later found out]. They also can add different fillers to the medication that you may have not been exposed to before/could be allergic to or could interact with other medications you take. After my appointment my doctor sent in a new prescription, and told me to inform the pharmacist that I cant take the generic. I did this, but apparently it was not recorded, because recently I was given the generic again. When I called to see if I could trade it in for my normal medication, they told me that I needed to contact 1. my psychiatrist to ask for her to submit ANOTHER new prescription, and to clearly specify that I cant take the generic, 2. my insurance to see if they cover the original prescription (which was super confusing, if I have been taking this the whole time then yeah I think its covered?), and 3. one of their other CVS’ to see if they have the specific medication I am normally prescribed. There really didn’t seem to be much of an attempt to help get me what I needed other than looking up which other locations might have the meds I need.Honestly, I’m not an expert on pharmacist ethics or anything, but it just feels very very not okay to do to someone. I trusted them to give me the prescription they were sent from my provider, and they let me put something in my body without knowledge of it being different or letting me know at least that it might make me feel differently. Actually, I just looked up their ethics code, a few codes that come to mind here are non-maleficence aka do no harm, and protecting patient dignity/autonomy, which includes doing a patient consultation if you are dispensing a different medication, including a generic version of a typical medication.I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I had been going to this pharmacy for a long time, and the staff have always been courteous to me in person even when they are busy and having to tolerate angry customers, which I do appreciate. I’m not posting this to be a meanie, but more to help other customers not experience what I experienced.I will conclude, pharmacies have a huge responsibility when dispensing medicine. You can really improve the lives of your customers or you can really really harm them. I beg you, please be more mindful of communicating to your patients.EDIT:I have a correction – I have learned the generics only have to be 70% as effective as brand is inaccurate, and that they are supposed to dispense the generic, and that its likely I was on a generic to begin with but was given a different one. However, I still think there should be more communication around this with consumers. Not everyone has the education/background to know how to navigate these situations.
