A wonderful Oyster Festival. Very well organized. Plenty of family fun. Great food. Plenty of paid parking nearby if you arrive early. Oyster Bays Oyster Festival is two days in Oct on a Sat. and Sun. All kinds of foods and deserts are sold. Beer is not sold within Festival or allowed in the Festival . This festival draws about two hundred thousand over the two days. The train is a big option Many people take buses from Vernon School in East Norwich And other locations. This Oyster Festival has it all it has grown from humble beginnings to a well planned out event and of great accomplishments This Festival usually has big Tall Ships but the last two years they haven’t I expect they will have one for Fall 2019. The Pirates show is great and wonderful and is a sure bet it’s a free outdoor action show and looked forward to each year. The Festival Varys in events but you can always expect great food and a very safe environment to walk around. The buses will also return you to the location you got the bus make sure you get on the bus for your location.

Today was a perfect day to spend it at the Oyster festival. The weather was just gorgeous for an outdoor activity. Don’t know much about the train and the buses situation. We took an Uber and I think it was the best decision. If you can avoid driving there, do it. There is parking available but it a bit of a walk to the activities. Plenty of food around for any taste. I had New England clam chowder, my husband had Manhattan one. Both were very good, as clam chowder tends to be a bit salty. Not in this case. The freshest raw oysters you can possibly taste! Outstanding! We had 5 plates)There are also fried oysters, steamed lobster dinners, seared scallops and other variety of food. The DO sell BEER at the Beer Garden but you have to drink it on the premises of the garden, you cannot walk around the festival with it. Plenty of activity for the kids as well. What a fun day we had!
