Best vegan restaurant hands down. They have two tables outside in the front for dining in but you could also order to go. They have generous portions, delicious vegan food, and very friendly customer service. They also have a pretty huge grocery store well. MESSAGE TO THE CITY OF EL MONTE: please allow this place to open their buffet again. It will be good for business because I know even people from Loma Linda would come out to eat their food before Covid.

Though no longer a buffet they still offer some of their favorites for quick and affordable to go meals. Options might depend on the day and time. Their market has a good selection of vegetarian groceries including fresh vegetables, frozen foods, and lots of snacks and drinks, and a powder to make their custard pudding. Apparently it’s the same one as the boba shops.

Sweet Veggie is all about delicious food that is (mostly) actually healthy, too, and the awesome, friendly people working here.Inside the massive restaurant they have an. amazing vegetarian grocery shop, too! I find it a very liberating experience to shop freely, with NO NEED TO WORRY about all the blood, pus, and hormones–let alone the massive amounts of pollution, misery, and disease that fill other regular stores with meat, dairy, eggs, etc.
