Absolutely fantastic food! The only thing needed to try is the fantastic sourdough bread bowl with delicious clam chowder. It’s truly one of a kind. The sourdough is very soft and well made. It’s not too sour so it doesn’t turn away those that aren’t too used to very sour bread. The clam chowder is not too fishy or clammy. I believe anyone can enjoy this delicious treat without particularly having to love either of the two flavors. The place inside is a bit small but they have plenty of space (even now, during COVID times). There is plenty of seating space outside, and they are spaced apart to be comfortable. They also have very cool bear and turtle shaped breads at the bakery, but was ultimately dwarfed by the sourdough bread bowl.

Amazing sourdough!!! I enjoy baking bread, and visiting Boudin was a bucket list item for when when I knew I would be coming to San Francisco. I had the grilled cheese, and I absolutely loved the taste of the bread. They also had a nice space for eating. I’m a little sad that the factory tour was closed, but the food was fantastic, and we could see through the windows where a baker was shaping the loaves of bread. I also loved the little bread sculptures of sea creatures around. The turtle was especially cool.

Great food and quick service. Watching them make the bread and also seeing the different animal shapes is cool as well. It can be busy at times so I would recommend planning to avoid peak times. Also if you get the time the tour is interesting to check out as well.
