Dr. Raymond Gurney established Livermore Optometry Group in 1947 as a small office dedicated to serving the vision needs of local families. Since its inception, LOG has been an active participant in the community as well as a leader in quality eye care. Dr. Ronald Emrich joined the practice in 1967 followed by Dr. Clark Abramson in 1973, Dr. Teresa Yim in 1984, Dr. Steven Faith in 1986, Dr. Shawna Kuntz in 2004, Dr. Andrea Melendez in 2007 and most recently by Dr. Melanie Mason and Dr. Pamela Jetter.

The staff at Livermore Optometry are polite, friendly, efficient and practice Covid safety precautions. They are thorough with the examination of my eyes and questions concerning my eye health…… However, I do wish someone had given me an approximate waiting time. I don’t mind waiting due to our national health crisis, but just an approximate time frame would have been appreciated.I would have no hesitation recommending them to friends and co-workers.

My son was seeing Dr. Melindez for a year and when I asked for a referral to see the ophthalmologist, she refused to make the referral. My son’s pediatrician made the referral. And after seeing the ophthalmologist, we found out our 4 year old son doesn’t need glasses and probably needs patching. It’s awful when an optometrist lets her ego come on the way of patient care. We will not be coming back to see Dr. Melindez.
