—MAY 2021I buy pints from Whole Foods from time to time, but it tastes better in a cone. Turkish Coffee is my favorite even though I typically prefer fruity flavors.I visited around 330pm and the store had the longest line on the block. Inside, employees were regularly reminding guests to distance. The line was fairly quick. Not many options for sitting down to eat.

Good ice cream sorta rude service. After standing in a very long line we get near the door only to have one of the workers drop what she was doing to come & loudly explain that we need to stand behind the sticker & keep the door clear. Reasonable request however we weren’t blocking the door unlike the people in front of us who weren’t told anything. We finally are allowed to enter & when it it gets to my husband’s order he’s told that the time for ordering is over after he announces he needs more time.

I tried this ice cream back in L.A., and it is even better in Santa Barbara. There are more flavours at the flagship store, and I love that they use and support other Central California businesses, especially during these trying times.Their prices are fair, and not ridiculous compared to other ice cream shops I have ventured to. I also really love ice cream, so I do have a baseline for some of my favourite flavours. I had the chocolate chocolate chocolate and mint chip on their waffle cone, and it did not take too long for them to prepare it, even though it was a bit busy on a Saturday evening. It was also really good, and not too minty like other ice cream shops. Everything tasted as I had hoped for and more. With the pandemic still limiting businesses from operating normally, McConnell’s has done a great job managing orders. It also helps that the city has closed off State Street for pedestrians to freely walk around. I definitely recommend this shop for anyone visiting the area.
