Found this place oddly by looking on Google maps for an Italian meatball sandwich. Reviews said it was great. My experience was a little disappointing. The place is good otherwise, busy, room to sit. Parking is difficult when busy. The meatball sandwich I had was just fair. The meatballs and sauce were plain, the sandwich was kind of dry, more sauce would have helped as well as some herbs for flavor. The cheese was sliced sandwich cheese and the sandwich wasn’t hot enough to melt the cheese. It was kind of like a more expensive subway version. I think they should just drop the Italian part of the deli name. What could make the sandwich better is a little more attention to detail.

Well known DTLA lunch spot. Still open for take out. They have one of the best and simplest online ordering systems I’ve ever used.Do yourself a favor and order ahead using the website. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the product. This is place that’s worth a special trip downtown.

I’ve been going there every Tuesday for the lasagna it’s a must if you’re in LA stop by and say hello. Try anything on the menu it’s delicious but if you’re there on Tuesday or Thursday try the pasta special which is spaghetti with meatballs or lasagna with sausage or meatballs I recommend getting one of each and putting the rest of the freezer.
