My teenage sister works for instacart and got an order to this company yesterday. It was an order with a $48 tip. It was a heavy order with multiple cases of water to be carried up multiple sets of stairs. She relies on instacart, as its her only source of income. Instacart has a feature where one can adjust the tip after the order is completed. This feature is typically used if items are damaged/ gone/ the order went wrong. This morning they had adjusted the tip and took away $40. Nothing had gone wrong with the order, so this was uncalled for. I called and spoke to sal who was very helpful and gave me a corporate number to reach. I reached Trisha, who said she was the one who placed the order. I explained the situation, yet she refused to compensate. She was not solution based and seemed to care very little about this. It is one thing for an individual to “tip bait”. It is a whole different scenario when it is a company and business doing it. This is extremely unprofessional, cheap, and shady. I can only imagine it is an unprofessional, cheap, and shady business as well.
