Excellent piece of American history. You are able to explore at your own pace on a self guided marked tour. Well paved and maintained path. Good little museum with interesting staff members to answer your questions. Beautiful lighthouse and picnic area overlooking the water. Has both a stamp for the National Lighthouse Passport and the Passport to your National Parks.

Beautiful hidden gem on the Hudson- a must see! Somewhat hilly, but beautifully maintained. Paved pathways. Great views and very interesting history. Note: the museum bldg is CLOSED this time of year as well as REST ROOMS. But it still a nice walk on a nice day.
