In March 2014, Manny and Kathy opened Verplanck Auto as a full service auto repair and maintenance service center in hotspot Beacon, NY. As Beacon, NY’s population expands exponentially, our services have expanded, including Subaru and most other car makes.

I don’t know about everyone else, but when I go to a new autobody shop, I hold my breath. Definitely wasn’t needed after taking my car to Verplanck Auto. This is a local mom and pop type business with Manny and Kathy at them helm. The two of them and the rest of the staff are very, very friendly and give a personal touch. My car was getting checked out because it was making a squeak/rattling sounds when I would press on the break, so it was concerning to say the least. I wasnt sure how big the bill would be and what would be needed because I am no car guy. I got a call the day I brought it in from Kathy and Manny and they let me know the issues and what should be done and what could be done but wasn’t necessary. Very refreshing to have someone give you the brass tax and give you options and educate you while not trying to take advantage.There is no doubt that I am going to bring my car back here, and you shouldn’t hesitate either.

I had a used car break down on me and I’ve never had to take a car to a mechanic before. Verplanck auto seemed to have a good reputation so I took a gamble and I’m glad I did!Turned out the transmission was shot and needed replacing, which was no small job. Manny and his team made every effort to make sure it was done right! Going as far as ditching the initial salvaged transmission that was going to go into the car and ordering a brand new one at no extra cost.The repair turned into a bit of a nightmare (due to the car being a lemon) and Manny had every opportunity to say “good enough” and hand it back. Instead he saw the repair through making sure everything was done correctly.The last thing I wanted after having a car break down was a bad mechanic taking me for a ride and I found the exact opposite at Verplanck Auto. Professional, polite, and attentive. 110% my go-to shop from now on!
