3.5 starts. This Fay Da Bakery is conveniently located right next to the 71st Avenue subway stop in Forest Hills. Perfect spot for commuters to quickly grab breakfast and/or lunch before heading into the subway. Fay Da is a popular Chinese bakery chain and there are many locations in New York. The staff at this location is very friendly, polite and efficient. During the morning rush, there can be lines for the checkout, but they move very quickly.The bakery is clean and there are plenty of seating in the front. There is a ramp at the entrance, making it stroller accessible but not wheelchair accessible as the door is not wide enough.The baked goods/pastries are towards the back in display cases and by the counter. The breads and pastries at this location are usually very fresh due to the high traffic that they get. They put new items out several times during the day. I really like their sponge cake and almond twist pastry. They also offer some savory items like curry beef puff, pork buns, lotus leaf wraps and sandwiches. This place is cash only. Overall, a great place to grab a quick snack or meal.
