I recently switched over from spectrum after receiving a 20% increase on my previous bill. For the price (as well as supporting a local business in the area), I figured it was going to be a good relationship.I’m only about two weeks in, and I’m already wondering if I should go back to spectrum.First off, my plan was to use my own router (renting a router for $9.99 per month is something I’m not fond of). When the installation came, they did not bring anything to check the connection, which didn’t help since I’m working from home and need internet access. After the installation, I attempted to try using a new router we purchased, which did not help. When I called their customer support, I was unable to get anyone to come out (which, given the fact it was friday afternoon, I’m not terribly surprised). They said they would call monday as I settled on getting a router through them for now. When the guy came on Monday, he brought the router, and was unsure for how to set the internet up on a personal router (they did provide me the information for a static IP, which per my brother in law, is a little bizarre for a ISP to utilize considering it’s for residential). I eventually cancelled my spectrum and was set to keep DFT, with the chance to eventually work the router issue later.Three day weekend. Good time to try this, right?I was able to actually get the internet connected through my old router before it went down. I remember what the guy told me the other day, and that was to call and get a technician on the line to assist. When I did try this the first time, I would up speaking to a rep who told me they can only troubleshoot remotely if using their router and what not.My internet is down, and since it’s a local company, I can’t call anyone to check on the service until Tuesday. This doesn’t help since I have to log in to work at 8:30am (yes, I tried shutting off the router/modem trick. The lights are shown to be working, but no access). This is beyond frustrating for a couple of reasons:1) When they come to install the internet, the technicians should be provided something to truly test out the connection prior to leaving. This is not on the installation team who were not provided this stuff to properly test it out.2) It should not be complicated if someone wants to use their own router. $9.99 a month extra is a bit high for this, and if people would prefer to use this, the process should be smooth. As much as I hated on spectrum, at least this was simple to do.3) I will always be pro-worker (i.e. allowing staff for holidays off), but its disappointing that I cant get anyone to reset the internet until Tuesday at the earliest. That’s more of a nitpick on my end.Right now, based off the first impression I have, it’s a 1-star product. Hopefully, things will change a little in the coming weeks, but I’m awfully disappointed at this service just two weeks in. I hope this isn’t going to be an ongoing issue. If it is, I’ll be going back to Specturm, even knowing how high the prices are.

Polite staff way above. Spectrum late for my installation but fast when they finally arrived at the end of my appt window which wasn’t made aware of.My installation was set for 10 when I called at @ 10:30 they informed yit was a 10-1 window I was not told this when I set up my appt the installers were nice but unplugged my time Warner phone in which I was waiting for a call from my neruoligist I missed it as I figured out my phone was unplugged on Sunday

I appreciate that when I call for service, I can easily talk to a person. Everyone is helpful and response is quick. They also follow up to make sure issues are resolved. I would highly recommend DFT.
