This is an absolutely fantastic way to kill a few hours if you are in any way interested in the history of New York and the wars the U.S. has been involved in.Incredibly well-curated, there’s just a wealth of artifacts and information that goes beyond the broad strokes that a lot of us know. Also, it’s free! There is a suggested donation, however, and that’s what helps keep this museum running so well.

I have not been to the Museum. I watched an interview with a true American Hero ,Gabriel J Vertucci on Youtube posted by the Museum. This was such a compelling and from the gut talk with Mr Vertucci. that anyone interested in WW2 history needs to see. ThankYou NY State Military Museum for posting it.

On par with internationally acclaimed museums, but more local and state focused exhibits. Excellent artifacts and amazing customer service with no entry fee. So much detail and fun for the whole family!
