I had hired a landscape company to install Permaloc Cleanline XL 6 x 3/16 x 8′ aluminum edging and SiteOne was the supplier. The exact specifics were included in communication, and that was the product ordered, for which I was quoted $721. Once the product came in, I was told they had the wrong product number and it would be $2,900, a 400% increase over quote. I was told I could just order the material quoted instead, but multiple people were uneducated on the product forcing me to call Permaloc directly. They advised that material would not be suitable for my project. What’s more, an online retailer sells a very similar line Permaloc Cleanline 5.5 x 3/16 x 8′ for half the cost and no one could explain why SiteOne was so much more, because Permaloc refused to provide the manufacturer pricing. In the end, they failed to honor the price, even though it was wholly their mistake, my project wasn’t completed, and I subsequently had to fire my landscaper for breech of contract. My husband is a contractor, and said this was one of the most unprofessional experiences he has ever had with a supply company.
