Wonderful museum with knowledgeable your guides than answered most of our questions. Get the engine room your, it’s worth it! Hardly stopped to take photos at it was very interesting.

An informative tour that continued to entertain. It was great to be able to explore the entire ship and learn more about it’s history. We had some young children in our tour group and they were just as fascinated with everything as the adults in the group.I do want to mention that it’s not the most handicap accessible, which is to be expected on a ship. I went with someone with bad knees and she wasn’t able to go below deck because of how steep the stairs were. It’s nothing that can be helped but I did want to point that out for people who may be looking to take someone who doesn’t handle stairs well.

This was the best tour I have ever been on. I took the family of 6 (4 kids ranging from 3 to 10 yrs old) and all of us loved it. These kids are not strangers to tours. The initial tour was with Sarah and she did great! There are some interactive stations to put helmets on and try out moving the big guns. The initial tour was great but the Engine room tour was out of this world. For $5 more we had tour guide Gary who is a volunteer and been working with the uss slater for 20+ years. Engine room tour for 13 yes and older. This tour gave a better insight and understanding of the inner workings of the ship. Every question answered with great knowledge and understanding. To hear about all they work they are doing and have done is just amazing. its great to see the accomplishments of what people can do when they put their minds to it and work together.
