We had great service, were sat immediately, and had a decent water view. The restaurant was crowded for covid times and everyone had plenty of space, which was nice. The menu had a decent selection of different dishes, however I was disappointed with my meal. It was cooked appropriately and I ate it all but it really wasn’t what I expected. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich which was marinated chicken. The marinade was Italian dressing I found, as I received an additional cup of it with my meal. The pesto was non-existent and a few flakes of basil mixed into mayonnaise on the sandwich. It’s not even in the picture because the small amount of it was underneath the lettuce and the white on the sandwich is the bit of cheese. Again no complaints on the preparation of the meal and I certainly ate it all, but it should be called Italian marinated chicken and not pesto chicken when there’s zero pesto flavor.

The food was mediocre and reminded me of the diner my grandmother would take me to growing up that was only visited by very elderly people. My lobster linguine was supposedly made with a Tabasco Alfredo but there was 0 spice, much less spicy flavor, in the sauce. Instead it was sweet. I’m not even confident it had any salt. The pasta was also severely overcooked. Overall it was an at best $20 meal priced at $30. My partner ordered the crab stuffed haddock, which he said was all good except the sauce tasted like it had sugar added as well. The friends we visited with both had their food swimming in butter/oil to the point it was hard to eat. Perhaps this was all because we were some of the last people to be served for the night, but earlier that day we had called to confirm we could get a table immediately following the last sightseeing cruise of the evening. If we were there so close to close that the chefs did not care to cook our food properly, front of house should be turning people away at 8:00 pm. If this is their regular quality, I’m honestly afraid to try other restaurants in Watkins Glen as this is the second disappointing place in a row I’ve visited that had good reviews from locals and neutral to terrible reviews from visitors, and it makes me question the local standards.
