San Felipe de Austin State Museum is a hidden gem. You would not think when you drive by that its anything special, but it is. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They can adequately explain all the history encompassed in the museum. The design and detail inside are second to none. Please see attached photos to my review. I recommend going during a time when they are not busy. This gives you ample time to give yourself a history lesson. It is home to many historical pieces my favorite being Stephen F. Austin’s desk he traveled with. History meets technology perfect blend. Texan bucket list for sure. They only charge seven dollars. I would have paid more

What an exciting historical display depicting the history of Stephen F Austin’s plans and colonization of the area. This is a must go to for school children learning Texas history. I enjoyed talking to the friendly guide who was very knowledgeable and answered our questions.

We thoroughly enjoyed this museum and park and it is a must see for those who want to know more about Stephen F. Austin and the founding of Texas. The museum is new and very interactive. The village wasn’t open because they are working on it but it will be nice to come back and see it when it does open.
