Established in 2014, baba cool is a vibrant and relaxing all day café just steps away from Fort Greene Park. Start the morning at our sun-filled space with breakfast bites like chia pudding, butternut squash toast, and soft scrambled egg sandwiches paired with coffee, tea, or matcha. Stop by later in the day for flavorful and home-style entrees and signature cocktails as well as beer and wine. We partner with local vendors such as Partners Coffee, Kettl, and Grandaisy Bakery for high quality ingredients. Once dubbed “the queen of Fort Greene” by Brooklyn Mag, we focus on thoughtful service and genuinely delicious experiences.
Bright cafe with espresso & inventive, light breakfast & lunch fare, plus stylish, minimalist decor.

Food was great and cosy atmosphere but too small portions.

Great sandwiches (incredible gluten free bread!) and decent coffee/tea.

The coffee is great with a good collection of light bites and desserts.

The first time I visited Baba Cool, I was truly amazed by their wonderful quality of coffee (latte) and food including: their tasty cookies and their breakfast brioche sandwich. What truly made my day wonderful was attentive and kind customer service and a smiley positive, beautiful and radiant attitude of the server. She even encouraged us to purchase another dessert, which we gladly did! 5 star Sunday morning experience. Loved it.Unfortunately, several weeks later, my husband and I stopped by to grab a cup of coffee at 8am on Friday, and our experience wasn’t the same. Our order was taking a long time and we didn’t even get a glass of water, as promised. The morning sandwich came out great, but the coffee lacked creamy foam (watery) and wasn’t consistent with what we received in the past. The server was rude and not attentive at all. He never stopped by our table and just simply ignored us. Lots of angry people standing around the window and waiting to make an order signaled that something isn’t right. Very stressful experience. I wished the consistency of coffee and customer service stayed the same, since the place deserves it!

baba cool is a one-of-a-kind staple to the Fort Greene neighborhood. not only is it so delicious, everyone is so kind and considerate! I’m a little biased but I’ll always have a special place in my heart for baba ♥️

This place was a good surprise. Very tasting cocktails & good food at a very reasonable price point. Lovely small plates, fresh produce and quality cheese. No frills on service & seating – You use a QR code to download the menu & order at a window. Wait staff deliver your meal and make rounds for additional beverage orders. The outdoor tables and chairs are inexpensive not a big turnoff but not particularly comfortable either.Highly recommendDid you like this review?
