I’ve been buying from Lewis & Maese for atleast 20 years and have always had a good experience. They are flexible about pick up,and our relationship is based on stellarcustomer service. Their people can loadan amazing number of items in your vehicle,obviating the need for multiple trips. Lewis & Maese has treasures that are irresistible, and I’ve gotten some for nickels on the dollar. This auction house gets some of the most famous estates with incredible furnishings and soft goods. I highly recommend Lewis & Maese.

Should have called police.Called to schedule an appointment to look at my items for consignment. They put me at 10am Saturday morning. I drove 40 minutes to get there. They looked at my items and showed some interest in some snuff bottles but not others. The items were put all over the desk. The lid from one of my teapot from 19th century dropped to the ground and completely broken into pieces. I was shocked and didn’t know what to say.Before I can say anything, he accused me of not coming in normal business hours that is why they have to do it so rush.Come on! They picked the time, not me!The guy immediately wanted me to leave. He quickly packed my stuff and asked me to leave immediately. He said he has no time for this. Almost threw me out there.Throughout the whole process, I was nice, polite and calm. Even after the incident of breaking tea pot lid, I was calm without saying any harsh words or accusing any one .But he almost kicked me out there. Like I was a person with leprosy. No apologies no good bye, no nothing. Unbelievably irresponsible, rude and disrespectful! This entire experience is like a nightmare.I should have called the police. Things happened so fast and I didn’t have no time to think and respond.
