I rented a car from Budget Rental in Ketchikan, AK. When I arrived, there was no one at the counter to give me my vehicle. They had a sign that said, due to COVID they were by appointment only. I had a reservation (appointment) but they were not there. I called the local Budget number listed for Ketchikan and I got an answering machine. I left a message but no one returned my call. I then called the Budget Rental car’s customer service. They took my reservation number and when they could not get a hold of the owner of the Ketchikan location they hung up on me, I’m assuming so they wouldn’t have to deal with the situation. Seems like this is the normal way of handling customer service issues these days. When I called back, I was transferred several times and then the representative stated the Ketchikan location was privately owned and there was nothing customer service could do. They gave me the number to the local Ketchikan Budget (the one I called previously) and they wanted me to resolve the issue…great customer service; that was their solution. I never was able to get a rental car and was stuck at the airport. Terrible customer service and didn’t get what was expected.
